7.4.05 when i was little, i had a nightlight that i kept on all night long. it sat on my shelves, on the fourth shelf up from the bottom, in the time before my shelves had doors on them. it was pink frosted glass. it was only about six inches tall, the bottom and top halves mirror images of each other, rotund and compact. the top had a little round hole in it an inch wide, edged with raised, wavy scalloping. it gave off a soft, golden light that filled up my shelves, making the wood look even more like honey than it already did. as i drifted off to sleep, i would open my eyes a sliver to make sure it was still on. i hope jon comes back to himself soon.
