9.25.05 a note on water pressure: when i came to school this semester, i was bothered by the decidedly lacking water pressure in the chamberlain showers. it took me several weeks to acclimate. this past weekend at jon's house the pressure in the next-to-the-kitchen/dog's shower seemed much stronger than it did when i first used it upon my arrival from scotland. the pressure at home also seems to be pretty high; luke gardner always claimed it hurt. i never noticed, but i frequently think about his comment while i'm in the shower there, wondering what he was talking about. the water pressure in the shower in scotland remains encapsulated, untouched by other showers. it still exists, a tiny three foot by three foot space on a hill on the south side of edinburgh, pounding water onto someone else. it was a transitory space, but made more real by its isolation that nearly anything to date.
